A new little gem in Swakopmund has been found. A warm, inviting, little shop (not little for long – I can assure you), has opened up its doors and is called Jamieson16.

A small function was held to celebrate and showcase one of the many services that Jamieson16 offers - from graphic design, digital paper printing as well as sublimation printing.
What got me excited was the sublimation printing and understanding how it works and the quality it offers. When Lindie explained the whole process, she was talking with passion and one cannot help but to share her excitement on the endless possibilities that brings life to fabric.
From what we saw and what was explained, a sublimation printer is a computer printer which uses heat to transfer dye onto the fabric. Permanent colours are embedded in the fabric, rather than printed on the surface. It is a unique molecular process that uses special sublimation ink and heat press printing. During the heat press stage the pores of the fabric opens to allow sublimation ink (now in a gaseous state) to enter the fabric. Since the ink becomes part of the structure of the material, the images on the fabric don't fade or crack - even after multiple washings or the harsh sun. The end product is of the highest quality, which leaves you with bold, colourful and even photo realistic images.
Whether you are an individual, small or large business, into retail or even an interior designer and you want something new and something fresh, make a turn at Jamieson16.
Being one of the firsts for Swakopmund (and the rest of Namibia), Jamieson16 has a fresh new take on sublimation printing – they are BOLD, they are COLOURFUL and they are ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! So if it is something fabric, it must be because it is Jamieson16...
